4-Week Pottery Wheel Experience
Four Sundays. Your own wheel. Your own creations. A chance to slow down, get your hands in clay, and discover what you can make.
Have you ever watched someone working at a pottery wheel and thought,
I want to try that?
This four-week experience gives you more than a quick turn at the wheel. You'll have time to settle in, learn how the clay moves beneath your hands, practice at your own wheel, and watch your skills—and your pottery—take shape from week to week.
No pottery experience is needed. We'll guide you through the process in a relaxed, welcoming studio where beginners can learn without the pressure of having to make something perfect.
You'll begin with a simple lump of clay and learn to center, open and shape it on the wheel. As the weeks progress, you'll experiment with cups, bowls and other simple forms, refine and trim the pieces you want to keep, add your own details, and finish by choosing glazes that make your pottery feel like yours.
Your four-Sunday journey:
Week 1 — Meet the Wheel
Get comfortable with the clay, the wheel and the basic motions of centering, opening and pulling walls. This is your chance to experiment, get messy and begin making your first forms.
Week 2 — Find Your Form
Come back to the wheel with more confidence. Practice cups, bowls and simple forms while learning how small changes in your hands can completely change a piece.
Week 3 — Make It Yours
Your pottery begins to feel personal. Trim and refine selected pieces, improve their shape and add simple decorative details.
Week 4 — Bring It to Life
Explore glaze choices and finish the pottery you've created. We'll take care of the final kiln firing, and then comes one of the best parts—the return to see and pick up your finished pieces.
Everyone's pottery journey looks a little different. You aren't expected to produce a certain number of perfect pieces. The goal is to experience the wheel, build confidence, enjoy the process and create pottery that carries your own fingerprints and story.
